Xreal smart glasses partner Google eyes profitability
TechCrunch·
Xreal, a smart glasses company partnered with Google, believes it has overcome the industry's long-standing challenges of bulky hardware and limited software. CEO Chi Xu highlighted that the convergence of improved hardware, ready operating systems, and enhanced user interfaces, like their Project Aura glasses, marks a turning point. While Meta's Ray-Ban partnership saw unit sales, Xreal aims for actual profitability, projecting breakeven next year. Their latest model, Aura, offers immersive experiences and professional applications, with a commercial launch planned for later this year and an IPO anticipated before the end of 2026.
