Ableton enables browser extensions for Live
The Verge·
Ableton is enhancing its digital audio workstation, Live, by introducing a new Extensions SDK. This allows musicians to build browser-style extensions using JavaScript, expanding functionality beyond the existing Max for Live capabilities. While Max for Live primarily focuses on MIDI and audio processing, these new extensions can integrate with nearly any aspect of the DAW. Developers can create tools for tasks like bulk track renaming, song arrangement sketching, or sample slicing, aiming to streamline workflows and foster creativity within the music production environment.
