AI audio app Huxe shuts down amid competition
TechCrunch·
Huxe, an AI-powered audio generation app founded by former Google NotebookLM developers, has ceased operations. The shutdown follows closely behind Spotify's launch of a similar personal podcast feature. Huxe cited the highly competitive consumer AI market, where features quickly become commoditized by larger companies, as a likely factor. Despite raising $4.6 million, the startup struggled to differentiate its podcast creation tool as similar functionalities emerged from major players like Adobe, Amazon, and Meta. The app will be removed from app stores, and user data will be deleted after a brief operational period.
