AMD Brings FSR 4 Upscaling to Older Radeon GPUs
Ars Technica·
AMD is extending support for its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4 upscaling technology to older Radeon GPUs, including the RX 7000 and RX 6000 series. Initially launched exclusively for newer RDNA4 architecture cards, this move broadens accessibility for gamers with previous generation hardware. The implementation on older RDNA3 and RDNA2 architectures required adjustments to work with existing INT8 hardware, potentially leading to slight performance or image quality differences compared to RDNA4. This expansion addresses user concerns about support for older graphics cards and enhances the value proposition for existing AMD GPU owners.
