Apple Blocks Vibe Coding Apps, Forcing New Strategies
TechCrunch·
Apple has intensified its crackdown on "vibe coding" applications, leading to the removal or update blocks for apps like Anything, Replit, and Vibecode. Anything's app was removed twice, with Apple citing a clause preventing apps from downloading or executing code, and expressing concerns about potential malicious code distribution. Despite attempts to comply, the company was unable to get its app reinstated for marketing itself as an app maker. Anything is now exploring alternatives, including a desktop version and potentially the more open Android platform, while Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney criticized Apple's actions as detrimental to developer tools.
