Apple enhances parental controls for kids' iPhones
TechCrunch·
Apple is significantly upgrading its Screen Time features to give parents more granular control over their children's iPhone usage. New tools allow parents to manage contacts, app access, website browsing, and block inappropriate content in messages. These enhancements are designed to address growing concerns about the mental health impacts of technology on children and align with emerging regulations. The updated controls, which will be available with iOS 17 this fall, also incorporate expert advice to tailor settings based on a child's age, including recommendations against social media for those under 13.
