Apple patches Beats Studio Buds eavesdropping flaw
Ars Technica·
Apple has released a firmware update for its Beats Studio Buds to address a critical eavesdropping vulnerability. The flaw, present in the Bluetooth chips, allowed nearby attackers to potentially intercept audio by impersonating paired devices. This security update, version 1B211, automatically installs when the earbuds are connected to an Apple device. The vulnerability, rated 8.8 out of 10, was part of a broader disclosure affecting multiple manufacturers using Airoha Systems chips. Other companies like Jabra, Bose, and JBL have also issued patches.
