Artemis II mission returns high-quality Moon photos
Ars Technica·
NASA's Artemis II mission has successfully transmitted high-resolution images of the Moon and Earth captured during its lunar flyby. While astronauts initially described the views, bandwidth limitations prevented real-time transmission of detailed imagery. The Orion spacecraft has since established an optical link, enabling the return of stunning, sharp photos of the lunar surface and Earthrise. The mission also captured a solar eclipse from lunar orbit. These images, available on NASA's Flickr page, offer unprecedented detail and hint at future lunar exploration and extended stays. The crew is now en route back to Earth for a Friday splashdown.
