Autonomous pod startup Glydways raises $170M

Glydways, a startup developing personal autonomous pods for urban environments, has secured $170 million in Series C funding. The round was co-led by Suzuki Motor Corporation, ACS Group, and Khosla Ventures, with participation from existing and new investors. The company is reportedly seeking an additional $250 million to achieve a valuation exceeding $1 billion. Glydways aims to significantly reduce infrastructure costs and increase transport capacity compared to traditional rail systems. They are launching three pilot programs this year and plan for large-scale operations by 2027, attracting notable investors like OpenAI founder Sam Altman.
