Bank CEOs warned of AI cybersecurity threat

Top Wall Street executives were urgently briefed by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell regarding a new artificial intelligence tool named Mythos. Developed by Anthropic PBC, this AI is exceptionally adept at identifying software vulnerabilities, posing a significant cybersecurity risk if it falls into the wrong hands. The government is concerned that such advanced AI could be weaponized by malicious actors to compromise critical infrastructure and steal sensitive data. Consequently, access to Mythos is being strictly limited to a select group of vetted entities to mitigate potential misuse.
