ClearBank Gains MiCA Approval for Stablecoin Services
CoinDesk·
ClearBank Europe has become the first Dutch credit institution to receive approval under the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation to offer crypto services. This approval allows the bank to operate as a crypto-asset service provider, enabling clients to convert between fiat currencies and stablecoins within a regulated environment. ClearBank plans to integrate Circle's euro and dollar-pegged stablecoins, EURC and USDC, via the Circle Mint platform, aiming to bridge traditional banking infrastructure with digital asset markets. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance cross-border payments and digital clearing services for its institutional clients in Europe and the UK.
