Cloudflare Gen 13 Servers Boost Edge Compute Performance
Cloudflare Blog·
Cloudflare has introduced its Gen 13 servers, achieving a twofold increase in compute throughput by optimizing the balance between cache and cores. The company transitioned to high-core-count AMD EPYC Turin CPUs, sacrificing some L3 cache for greater compute density. This strategic shift, combined with a new Rust-based FL2 software stack, effectively eliminated latency penalties. The result is significantly enhanced edge computing performance, enabling Cloudflare to deliver more processing power at the network's edge efficiently.
