Cloudflare previews shared dictionaries for compression

Cloudflare is previewing support for shared compression dictionaries, a technology designed to significantly reduce asset transfer sizes and improve page load times, especially with the rise of AI agents. As AI agents increase the frequency of website requests and faster development cycles lead to more frequent deploys, traditional caching becomes less effective. Shared dictionaries allow browsers to use previously cached versions of resources as a reference, enabling servers to send only the changed portions (diffs) rather than entire files. This delta compression approach promises substantial bandwidth and CPU savings.
