Corvette E-Ray discontinued for Grand Sport X
Ars Technica·
Chevrolet is phasing out the Corvette E-Ray hybrid, replacing it with the new Grand Sport X variant. The Grand Sport X retains the E-Ray's all-wheel-drive hybrid system, pairing a 186-horsepower electric motor with a powerful new 6.7L V8 engine. This new LS6 V8 produces 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 offered by Chevrolet. This engine will also become the standard for base Stingrays starting with the 2027 model year. The move signifies a shift in strategy, emphasizing performance while integrating advanced hybrid technology.
