Crusoe Buys Large Battery Capacity

Data center operator Crusoe is significantly expanding its energy storage capabilities through substantial battery purchases from Form Energy and Redwood Materials. The company plans to acquire 12 gigawatt-hours of Form Energy's long-duration batteries, marking Form's second major sale after a recent $1 billion deal with Google. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2027, providing Form Energy with hundreds of millions in revenue as it seeks to close a $500 million funding round. Additionally, Crusoe is enhancing its partnership with Redwood Materials, integrating more repurposed EV batteries into its microgrid operations.
