DeleteMe acquires social media security tool

Online personal data removal service DeleteMe has acquired Block Party, a social media security tool founded by Tracy Chou. Block Party initially focused on protecting users from harassment on Twitter but expanded to cover numerous platforms after API costs increased. The acquisition aims to integrate DeleteMe's data broker removal services with Block Party's social media protection, offering a more comprehensive solution for online safety. Chou founded Block Party in 2018, inspired by her own experiences with online intrusions, and secured $4.8 million in seed funding in 2022. The integration promises to enhance user privacy by consolidating disparate security tools.
