DoorDash offers driver gas relief payments
TechCrunch·
DoorDash is introducing a temporary program to help its U.S. and Canadian drivers cope with rising gas prices, exacerbated by the Iran-U.S. war. Eligible drivers who log at least 125 miles weekly can receive payments starting at $5, potentially saving $1 to $1.50 per gallon. Drivers using the company's Crimson debit card will also get an additional 10% cash back on gas purchases. This initiative aims to mitigate the financial strain on gig workers, who are responsible for their own fuel costs, which have significantly increased recently. The program runs until April 26.
