EU Doubles Steel Tariffs on Imports
Wsj·
The European Parliament has reached an agreement to significantly alter its steel import policies. The deal will reduce the annual quota for tariff-free steel imports to 18.3 million metric tons. Any steel imported beyond this new, lower quota will face substantially higher tariffs, set at 50%. This move is expected to impact global steel markets and trade relations, potentially increasing costs for industries reliant on imported steel within the EU.
