Ford EV Chief Doug Field Departs Amidst Investment Woes
The Verge·
Doug Field, a key figure in Ford's electric vehicle and software strategy, is departing the company next month. Field, who previously worked at Apple, led Ford's significant investments in EVs and software. His departure follows a substantial $19.5 billion writedown on the company's EV investments and the discontinuation of certain electric models. Alan Clarke, formerly of Tesla and currently leading Ford's advanced development lab, will succeed Field. Clarke will continue to oversee the development of Ford's Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) Platform.
