Gemini Robotics ER-1.6 Enhances Robot Navigation

Google DeepMind has introduced Gemini Robotics-ER 1.6, an advanced reasoning model designed to significantly improve robot autonomy and environmental understanding. This upgrade enhances spatial logic and multi-view perception, enabling robots to navigate and interact with the physical world more effectively. Key capabilities include improved visual and spatial understanding, task planning, and success detection, along with a new instrument reading feature developed in collaboration with Boston Dynamics. Gemini Robotics-ER 1.6 is also noted as Google's safest robotics model to date, demonstrating strong compliance with safety policies. The model is now accessible to developers through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio.
