Gmail allows users to change their username
The Verge·
Gmail users in the US can now change the part of their email address before the '@gmail.com' domain. This feature allows individuals to update embarrassing or outdated usernames chosen years ago. The previous username will remain linked to the account, ensuring no messages are lost. However, users can only change their username once every 12 months, and the new username cannot be used to create a separate Google Account later. This update addresses a long-standing user request for more flexibility in managing their primary email identity.
