Google Dialer fights scams with confirmation signal
Wired·
Google is enhancing Android's defenses against phone scams through its Dialer app. A new feature sends a silent confirmation signal during calls, verifying that the incoming caller is who they claim to be. This measure aims to provide users with greater confidence in the legitimacy of their calls, particularly important given the prevalence of sophisticated scamming operations. The feature is available on devices running Android 12 and later.
