Google Gemini simplifies AI migration with chat history import

Google is making it easier for users to switch to its Gemini AI by allowing them to import chat history and memories from other AI applications. This feature aims to provide a personalized experience by enabling Gemini to learn user preferences and past conversations without requiring users to start from scratch. Users can import memories by using a suggested prompt in their current AI app and pasting the response into Gemini, or by uploading a ZIP file of their chat history. The renaming of 'past chats' to 'memory' reflects Gemini's enhanced conversational recall capabilities, with these import options now rolling out via the Settings page.
