Google Translate is commemorating two decades of service, now supporting approximately 250 languages and serving over one billion users monthly. To celebrate, Google has launched a new 'pronunciation practice' feature for Android users, utilizing AI to provide instant feedback on spoken language, initially available in English, Spanish, and Hindi in the US and India. The company highlighted its long-standing use of AI and machine learning, dating back to its origins as an AI experiment in 2006, and its significant evolution to neural networks in 2016. Advanced AI models like Gemini are now enabling more fluid, real-time conversational translations.
