Halide Co-Founder Sued Over Source Code
The Verge·
The co-founder of the popular iPhone photography app Halide, Sebastiaan de With, is facing a lawsuit from his former business partner. Ben Sandofsky alleges that de With brought the app's source code with him when he joined Apple in January. Apple had previously attempted to acquire Halide's developer, Lux Optics, last summer, but the deal did not materialize. Instead, Apple hired de With, leading to speculation that he was poached. However, Sandofsky's lawsuit claims de With was terminated due to financial misconduct, suggesting a more contentious departure than initially understood.
