IEEE Mourns Loss of Long-Serving Volunteer Gus Gaynor

Gerard “Gus” Gaynor, a dedicated IEEE volunteer and former engineering director at 3M, has passed away at the age of 104. Gaynor was a significant figure within the IEEE, serving in numerous leadership roles for over 64 years, including as president of the IEEE Engineering Management Society and the first president of the Technology Management Council. He was instrumental in launching publications like Today's Engineer and TEMS Leadership Briefs. His extensive career also included 25 years at 3M, where he held positions such as chief engineer and director of engineering, leading advancements in innovation and manufacturing technology.
