Instagram launches ephemeral photos called Instants
The Verge·
Instagram is introducing a new ephemeral photo feature called "Instants," mirroring functionalities seen in apps like Snapchat and BeReal. These photos cannot be edited and are intended for sharing with a select group of close friends or followers. Instants will be accessible globally within the Instagram app's direct messaging inbox starting Wednesday. Additionally, a standalone Instants app is currently undergoing testing in specific regions. Users can find the feature by navigating to their DM inbox and locating a specific icon or photo stack. Friends can react with emojis and reply directly via direct message.
