iOS 27, iPadOS 27 Support Older iPhones, Few iPads
Ars Technica·
Apple's upcoming iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 updates will maintain support for a wide range of existing devices. iOS 27 will be compatible with all iPhones capable of running iOS 26, including the iPhone 11 and second-gen iPhone SE. However, iPadOS 27 will drop support for the 3rd-gen iPad Air, 8th-gen iPad, and 5th-gen iPad mini due to their older A12 Bionic chips. While performance improvements are expected for older iPhones, advanced features like Apple Intelligence will be restricted to newer models with at least 8GB of RAM, requiring devices like the iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or M1-equipped iPads.
