Lagarde: Stablecoins Undermine Euro's Global Ambitions

Speaking at the Banco de España LatAm Economic Forum, Lagarde emphasized the necessity for Europe to develop its own modernized settlement solutions. These solutions should be firmly anchored by central bank money to ensure financial stability and maintain the euro's relevance in the evolving digital economy, rather than relying on privately issued digital currencies.
