Mastercard, Lobster.cash enable AI card purchases

Mastercard is integrating with Crossmint's Lobster.cash to allow AI agents to make purchases using existing payment cards. This collaboration extends Mastercard's payment network to open agent platforms, enabling AI systems to execute transactions securely. Cardholders will authorize AI agents, with transactions authenticated by Mastercard's network and cryptographically linked to user intent. This move follows Visa's introduction of its Trusted Agent Protocol, highlighting a growing trend in AI-driven commerce as AI capabilities expand beyond simple chat functions.
