Matter 1.6 enables shared smart home network

The latest Matter 1.6 specification introduces a significant enhancement called Joint Fabric, allowing multiple smart home ecosystems to manage a single network. This means devices added to the network will be universally controllable across platforms like Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. Users will no longer need to individually share devices between different apps; setup will be performed once, granting access to all authorized platforms. This feature aims to simplify smart home management by treating the network as a shared resource accessible by various control applications, akin to multiple parties having signing authority on a joint bank account.
