Meta raises Quest headset prices due to RAM shortage
TechCrunch·
Meta is increasing the prices of its Quest 3 and Quest 3S virtual reality headsets, citing the rising cost of memory chips. The Quest 3S (128GB) will now cost $349.99, and the 256GB model will be $449.99, both up by $50. The Quest 3 sees a $100 price hike to $599.99. Meta attributes this decision to the global surge in critical component costs, particularly memory chips, which impacts consumer electronics. This adjustment is necessary to maintain the quality of hardware, software, and support for the Quest platform. Refurbished units will also see updated pricing, while accessories remain unchanged.
