Microsoft builds new AI agent for M365

Microsoft is developing a new AI agent, inspired by OpenClaw, to enhance its Microsoft 365 Copilot for enterprise clients. This agent aims to offer improved security and the ability to perform multi-step tasks autonomously over extended periods. Unlike some existing cloud-based Copilot tools, there's speculation this new agent might run locally on user devices, similar to the open-source OpenClaw. Microsoft has recently introduced other agentic tools like Copilot Cowork and Copilot Tasks, leveraging technologies such as Anthropic's Claude. The company is expected to reveal more about this new agent at its upcoming Build conference.
