Microsoft launches MXC for secure AI agent execution
VentureBeat·
Microsoft has introduced Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC), an OS-level sandbox integrated into Windows designed to enhance the security of AI agents. This system allows developers and IT administrators to define and enforce strict access boundaries for AI agents at runtime, mitigating risks associated with their unpredictable nature. MXC offers a spectrum of isolation options, from process isolation to micro-virtual machines, and binds agents to strong identities for auditability. With early support from OpenAI and Nvidia, MXC aims to make enterprise deployment of autonomous AI agents safer and more manageable by providing granular control and integration with Microsoft's security stack.
