Microsoft shifts developers from Claude Code to Copilot

Microsoft is reportedly scaling back its use of Anthropic's Claude Code AI tool, which was initially offered to thousands of its developers. Introduced in December, the program aimed to encourage experimentation with coding among various employee roles. However, the tool proved highly popular, leading Microsoft to reconsider its widespread adoption. The company now plans to revoke most Claude Code licenses and redirect developers towards its own Copilot CLI. This strategic shift suggests a move towards consolidating internal AI development resources and promoting proprietary solutions.
