Netflix increases subscription prices across tiers
Ars Technica·
Netflix has implemented a price increase for all its subscription tiers, with hikes of up to 12.5 percent. The ad-supported plan now costs $9 per month, up from $8, while the Standard ad-free plan rises to $20 from $18, and the Premium plan increases to $27 from $25. This move follows previous price adjustments in January 2025 and 2023. The company cites ongoing investments in content and new features as justification for the higher costs. Despite a shelved acquisition deal, Netflix's financial performance remains strong, with net income rising significantly, and the company is focusing on membership growth and ad revenue.
