New York law targets 3D printed gun production

New York is pioneering a law that could mandate 3D printers sold for consumer and business use include technology to prevent the creation of firearms. This initiative aims to combat the proliferation of untraceable "ghost guns," which have been increasingly found at crime scenes. The proposed legislation follows similar considerations in California and addresses a growing concern, as approximately one-third of U.S. states have already implemented bans or regulations on self-assembled firearms lacking serial numbers and bypassing standard background checks.
