NYSE taps Securitize for tokenized securities platform
The Block·
The New York Stock Exchange has partnered with Securitize, a firm backed by BlackRock, to develop a 24/7 tokenized securities platform. This initiative aims to bring stock trading onto blockchain technology, enabling round-the-clock trading and faster settlement times. Securitize, an SEC-registered transfer agent, is expected to be among the first to issue tokenized stocks and ETFs on the new platform, pending regulatory approval. This move by the NYSE follows similar efforts by Nasdaq, highlighting a growing trend in the financial industry to leverage blockchain for traditional securities.
