NZXT Settles Class-Action Lawsuit Over PC Rentals
Ars Technica·
PC hardware company NZXT and its billing partner Fragile have agreed to a $3.45 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit concerning NZXT's Flex PC rental program. Customers alleged that NZXT misrepresented the program, providing lower-spec PCs than advertised and misleading consumers about ownership and contract terms. The lawsuit claimed NZXT engaged in a 'bait-and-switch' scheme to offload older inventory. The settlement allows some customers to keep their rented PCs and offers debt forgiveness or cash payouts, pending judicial approval. NZXT also agreed to revise its business practices, including influencer advertising and product naming.
