OpenAI launches Lockdown Mode for sensitive data

OpenAI has introduced Lockdown Mode to enhance protection against prompt injection attacks, a vulnerability where malicious instructions are concealed within web content. This new feature disables live web browsing and image retrieval from the web, while still allowing image generation. Although not a complete safeguard against all prompt injections, Lockdown Mode aims to significantly reduce the risk of sensitive data exfiltration. It is currently being rolled out to ChatGPT Business accounts and eligible personal accounts, targeting users and organizations that handle confidential information and require heightened security.
