OpenAI releases tools for teen safety

OpenAI has launched a suite of open-source prompts designed to help developers enhance safety for teens within their AI applications. These prompts, compatible with OpenAI's gpt-oss-safeguard model and potentially others, address critical issues such as graphic violence, sexual content, dangerous behaviors, and age-restricted goods. Developed in collaboration with AI safety organizations like Common Sense Media, these tools aim to establish a baseline safety standard across the AI ecosystem. While not a complete solution to AI safety challenges, this initiative builds upon OpenAI's existing safeguards and aims to assist developers, particularly smaller teams, in implementing robust safety measures.
