Radify’s sci-fi plasma reactors could break China’s dominance of rare earth elements

Radify Metals is developing a novel plasma-based reactor technology aimed at disrupting China's dominance in rare earth element production. Current refining methods are polluting and inefficient, but Radify's process uses plasma to strip oxygen from metal oxides, producing pure metals with only water vapor as a byproduct. The startup has secured nearly $3 million in funding and is focusing initially on dysprosium and neodymium, crucial for magnets and electronics. If successful at scale, Radify's technology could significantly lower costs and increase supply chain resilience for critical minerals.
