Rakuten enables XRP payments for 44 million users

Rakuten is integrating XRP into its Rakuten Pay app, allowing its 44 million customers to use the cryptocurrency for payments and spot trading. Starting April 15, users can purchase XRP with Rakuten Points, trade it within the app, and hold it in their Rakuten Wallet. This move expands Rakuten's digital asset offerings, which previously included Bitcoin, Ether, and Bitcoin Cash. Ripple views this as a significant milestone for broader digital asset adoption, embedding XRP into one of Japan's largest loyalty and payment systems with over 5 million merchant locations.
