Roblox introduces age-based accounts for safety

Videogame platform Roblox is introducing tailored accounts for young users as part of a significant push to bolster online safety. This move comes amid intense global scrutiny regarding child endangerment concerns on the platform. Through its age-check system and parental verification, Roblox will categorize users aged 5-8 into 'Roblox Kids' accounts and those aged 9-15 into 'Roblox Select' accounts. These new account types are scheduled to roll out in early June, aiming to provide age-appropriate experiences and enhance protection for its younger player base.
