Russia Arrests Alleged Cybercrime Forum Owner

Russian police have arrested the alleged owner of LeakBase, a major online forum used by cybercriminals to share hacking tools and stolen data. This action follows an international effort by U.S. authorities and Europol to shut down the forum earlier this month, resulting in the seizure of its extensive member database. LeakBase, launched in 2021, hosted millions of compromised usernames, passwords, and financial information. The operation involved law enforcement from 14 countries, leading to arrests and searches globally. Europol confirmed they were not involved in the reported Russian arrest.
