SBI, Sony back Startale's $63 million tokenized finance push
CoinDesk·
Startale Group has secured $63 million in Series A funding, with significant contributions from SBI Group and Sony Innovation Fund, to bolster Japan's tokenized finance sector. The Singapore-based company develops blockchain tools for both financial institutions and consumers, including a blockchain for tokenized securities, stablecoins like JPYSC and USDSC, and the Startale app. The funds will accelerate the scaling of Strium for real-world asset trading, expand stablecoin adoption, and enhance the Startale app into a 'SuperApp' for asset management and payments, aligning with Japan's efforts to integrate blockchain with existing financial infrastructure.
