US Opens Tariff Refund Portal for $166 Billion
Finance Yahoo·
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has launched a portal to accept refund claims for approximately $166 billion in duties. While the portal is now open, approved payments are not expected to be disbursed for another 60 to 90 days. This extended timeline is contingent upon the successful clearance of claims through a complex review process. The initiative aims to provide relief to businesses impacted by tariffs, but the lengthy processing period may present ongoing cash flow challenges for many companies awaiting reimbursement.
