Yuga Labs settles Bored Ape NFT lawsuit

Yuga Labs has resolved its two-year legal battle with artist Ryder Ripps and Jeremy Cahen over their RR/BAYC NFT collection. The settlement, the terms of which remain undisclosed, ends the dispute concerning the alleged misuse of Yuga's Bored Ape imagery. Ripps and Cahen had argued their project was a satirical commentary, while Yuga claimed it constituted trademark infringement and misled buyers. Although a judge initially awarded Yuga nearly $9 million, an appeals court mandated a jury trial to determine buyer confusion, a trial now averted by this agreement.
