YouTube Premium Price Increases, Ad Bug Reported
Ars Technica·
YouTube has raised the monthly price for its Premium subscription service to $15.99 for individual plans and $26.99 for family plans, with increases also affecting the Premium Lite tier. This marks the first US price hike since 2023, following similar increases in international markets. Concurrently, users have reported experiencing 90-second unskippable ads on the free tier. YouTube attributes these extended ad breaks to a bug in the interface that displays inaccurate timers for shorter ads, stating they do not have a 90-second unskippable ad format and are rolling out a fix.
